Finals

I've got finals until next Wednesday, so I'll probably be too busy to post until after that. Look for something rather fun starting maybe that Thursday or Friday, though.

For now, though, I thought I would post a few thoughts on the PC trailer.

1. This trailer has more action and special effects than the entire first movie.
2. Ben Barnes better have a more convincing accent that when he says "I am Prince Caspian," or it's going to be hard to watch him act.
3. Trumpkin looks perfect (I was a little worried at first after I looked at some of the concept art for the movie)
4. I love King Miraz's armor and that of his entire 'armada,' especially the masks.
5. While Peter, Susan and Edmund look ~1 year older, Lucy looks at least two, if not three, years older in the trailer.
6. Aslan's not any bigger?
7. I want to live on that island. Seriously.
8. Still haven't seen doctor Cornelius.
9. Wow.
10. Wow.

Bye for now.

12. Can't wait
13. What's with the ice-wall?
14. If they wanted someone with a weird accent, why not get Arnold Schwarzenegger?
"Iyam Prince Caspyan!"
Hmm...
I am finished with science for the semester!! Yay!

*sigh* Upon scrutiny, the trailer strongly suggests that they have seriously tampered with the storyline. (Lady Rebekah's point 13 is a prime example.) Which annoys me. They have special effects, they have money, they have actors who can act, why can't they make the original story interesting enough to make all crowd-pleasing tampering unnecessary?

However, that whine aside, the trailer does look good and I am looking forward to it immensely. Unfortunately, though, I will have to wait a few months after you northerners (aka "Americans") to see it.

I don't think that they've messed with the story line too much. C.S. Lewis's writing style is such that a lot of freedoms can be taken without actually altering the storyline. For example, when they are looking at the ice wall corresponds, most likely, to the part of the book where the black dwarf and the hag suggest that they can use black magic to raise the white witch from the dead. Admittedly, the characters never actually saw the white witch, but I don't think that's a serious alteration of the storyline. Andrew Adamson (the director/producer) has said that the movies will follow the books closely. Only time will tell, I guess.

I just read your post about the dangers of hydric acid. Ha! I guessed it! I was right! I agree that Ben Barnes has a weird accent in this movie. It is sort of dissapointing. Also, from what I can remember of the book, Prince Caspian in this movie should be quite a bit younger. However, I'm sure it will be a good anyway! I think that Lady Rebekah's idea (from another post) of tying your door knob and Sarah's door knob together is brilliant, just brilliant. ;)

Another thing...I know that my thoughts are so very inferior to yours, but I also want to add that I think Lucy does NOT look too old. Her hair is just longer.
